Red Letter Day for Kilkeel
Eddie McGrady MP attends the Launch of Three Impressive Development schemes by KDA
Speaking at the launch the MP for the area said;
“Today is another Red Letter Day for Kilkeel and Kilkeel Development Association. Over the years Kilkeel Development Association has shown tremendous, vision, ingenuity and integrity in pursing projects of great value to the town and community of Kilkeel and Mourne. These most recent projects, the Maritime Visitors Centre, the Seafood Cookery School, the extension to Binnian Business Park and the car parking facilities and pontoon at the harbour, while separate projects have been integrated in such a way they bring great value to the tourism and business sector in Kilkeel.
Kilkeel, like many small towns, has suffered recently with the global financial crisis, yet in the midst of this gloom we have KDA providing a fresh focus and new start for local businesses and our tourism industry.
Many people, not least the Chief Executive of KDA and the Board members have given a great sacrifice to ensure that these projects, and the many others that preceded them, have been completed and the community thanks them for their tireless work.
Kilkeel can be proud of what has been achieved by KDA. I have been honoured as MP for the area to work with the KDA team over the years in pursing various projects. I have no doubt that this work will continue and that KDA will carry on responding to local needs in a practical and meaningful way.
