MP pursues improved bus service to new Downe Hospital

South Down MP Eddie McGrady has made representations to Translink about the bus provision to the new Downe Hospital, Downpatrick.

Mr McGrady stated, “At present, passengers who travel on the bus are required to disembark on the Ardglass Road, outside the hospital grounds, and walk some distance and negotiate steps before reaching the hospital. Many of the passengers to the hospital are elderly or infirm and find it difficult to manage this route.

I have asked Translink to investigate if it could provide a more direct service to the hospital grounds in order to facilitate passengers, and I hope that a solution can be found.”
