Minister Ritchie Making a Real Contribution to the Community
Minister Ritchie Making a Real Contribution to the Community
This further funding announcement by Minister Ritchie of £104,000 brings her Departments contribution in the current financial year to £542,000 in the Downpatrick Neighbourhood Renewal Area. The co-operation of the Council in contributing £19,000 to this round of funding is also of great benefit to the local community. This commitment is matched by the good work of the Downpatrick Neighbourhood Partnership who have identified the need for these schemes.
The funding announced will provide much needed sports equipment to those using the Ballyvange and Ballymote Halls and will also provide a scheme to remove the problem of fly tipping on the Flying Horse Road with the provision of clean up works and a re-design of the area affected.
Funding and schemes of this nature provided by the Department of Social Development and Minister Ritchie are evidence that the Assembly can make a real difference to our communities.
Ends.
