Cead Mile Failte, and many, many welcomes to my website, which I have designed to give you a short insight into my role as member of Parliament at Westminster, London.
I have represented the beautiful area of South Down since 1987. This area reaches from the Border with the Republic of Ireland, at Carlingford Lough to just south of Belfast, including the Mountains of Mourne.
Developing the Constituency of small towns and rural population has been my task over the years, by encouraging industry and commerce, tourism, and agriculture and fishing to survive and compete in rapidly changing conditions. Equally imperative is my role to enhance community harmony and well being, respecting diversity as an asset rather than a liability as only then can true peace and tolerance be assured.
