Eddie McGrady MP just two weeks after his visit to the site of the Old Mourne Hospital and his highlighting of the need to move forward with the development of the site has received confirmation from the Housing Executive that they will be in a position in the very near future to confirm the Housing Association that will work along side the Health Trust to develop the Site.

Eddie McGrady MP said

”This is a major development in a case where only a few weeks ago I was being told a Housing Association could not be found to develop the site. I welcome this development and I reiterate my plea to the Trust to work with the community and interested groups to establishing the best possible housing options for vulnerable adults in the Kilkeel and Mourne area, and to ensure that any units planned meet local requirements now and in the future.

I will continue to monitor the progress of this case closely and trust that we will receive further clarification and detail on the nature of the housing provision in the near future
